Riding won’t be the only way to get involved with Wales360 in 2019. Due to the size and complexity of the event we will be recruiting a number of volunteers to work with us, whether for one day in their local area or for the whole six-day event. We are now taking applications from prospective volunteers for our inaugural edition in July 2019. Simply fill in the form below to join the Wales360 team!

Apply to become a Wales360 volunteer!

Why volunteer?

Be a part of history by joining the Wales360 team for its inaugural edition in July 2019.

Due to the size and complexity of the event we are recruiting a number of volunteers to work with us, whether this is for one day in a local area or the entire event.

With your help the event will get the technical support and exposure it deserves. There are many difficult sections of the route which need stewarding, as well as a huge operational requirement in the start and finish camps.

Start/finish camp

This will involve require each person to be very hands on with strenuous tasks such as tent building, gantry provision, luggage distribution and general operational tasks to ensure the festival village is set up for the entry of the riders.

Route steward

Each day will be split down to three sections of route with three teams. These teams will be responsible for one third of the route. This will include feed stations, marshalling the route and putting up directional arrows.

All volunteers must be:

(1) 18 or over on the day the event starts (Monday 22 July 2019).

(2) ready for potentially physical and strenuous tasks.

(3) willing to travel via the event to ‘drop off’ marshalling locations.

(4) fully committed as the role of volunteers is crucial.

Volunteering at the Wales360 is critical for the smooth and safe running of the event. As some of these roles will be positioned in remote locations it is vital that the volunteers who register interest are fully committed to being present throughout their selected day/time. A day is likely to be from around 7am-5pm.

The meeting points for all volunteers at each stage will either be that day’s start or finish camp. Here they will be met by the volunteer coordinator and then transported to relevant marshalling locations. Volunteers will be advised of their roles prior to the event.

Volunteer application process

Use the form above to apply to join the Wales360 volunteering team. Successful applicants will be contacted in late May/early June.

Ahead of the event start, all volunteers will be required to complete a short online briefing course to ensure that they are fully prepared for the role.

Anybody wishing to not take up their place on the Wales360 team needs to inform us at least four weeks before the event.
